Big Success for Food Festival~~ WOHOOOO~~~

First of all, thank you so much for those who visited "Aroma In The Breeze" Food Festival. It was so fantastic when you see the crowd lining for FOODS. Besides, thank you so much for the organizing team who has spent months to plan this event, as well as all the foreign students who spent a lot of time to prepare the food for everyone of us. THANK YOU so much for every parties who participated.

國際周只剩三天~!!! International Weeks THREE Days to Go

我們今天訪問到的是來自韓國大邱，超可愛的政旼喔~
Today’s interviewee is 政旼 from Korea~!!

問：你中文學了多久了呢？
(How long have you learned Chinese?)
答：學了10個月
(For ten months)
問：那為什麼選擇清大呢？
(Why do you choose NTHU?)
答：因為離台北比較近~但後來發現政大更近...
(Cause it’s closer to Taipei, but later I found out that NCCU is actually in Taipei…)
問：來到台灣最讓你感到驚訝的是什麼呢?
(What surprise you the most when you come to Taiwan?)
答：上課時可以在教授面前吃東西，還有台灣人吃完飯也會喝湯~
(Students can eat in the face of teachers, and Taiwanese eat soup after a meal, too.)
問：你們在美食展的時候會做哪些食物呢？
(What food will you introduce during Food Exhibition?)
答：有辣炒年糕、韓式煎餅，可能有柚子茶喔。
(Spicy ricecake, Korean pancake, and maybe pomelo tea.)
問：最推薦台灣人去韓國的哪裡玩呢?
(Which part of Korea that you suggest Taiwanese should go?)
答：釜山、Insadong、Itewon(喜歡夜店的人可以去)

問：對於韓國文化大量輸入台灣有什麼看法嗎？
(What’s your comment about the Korean culture enters Taiwan?)
答：我覺得沒什麼。但是台灣人應該先愛自己的文化再去喜歡韓國的文化。
(I think it’s not a big deal. But Taiwanese should love their own culture first.)

我們覺得政旼的中文講得很流利喔，雖然只學了10個月但真的很厲害。
而且我們一直認為上課時吃東西是很平常的事情，原來在韓國是完全不行的。
政旼也跟我們說了她對韓國船難的看法，她覺得很難過。
萬國博覽會時，政旼他們會教大家一些韓國的禮儀喔，有興趣的人可以去學學喔。
We think 政旼 speaks Chinese well! Even though she has only learned for 10 months.
Also, Korean colleges don’t allow students to eat in class, but in Taiwan, it is common.
政旼also told us that she feels sad about the sinking boat.
By the way, in the culture exhibition, she will teach everyone some Korean etiquette. If you are interested in that, just come and see!!

國際周倒數4天International Week 4 days left

距離國際周的第一個活動-異國美食展只剩四天拉~~!!是不是很期待呢?
今天又來到訪問時間，這次受訪的是來自美國的Brad，快來瞧瞧他要跟我們分享什麼吧！

Only four days to go from the first event of the International Week, the Food Festival!! Aren’t you guy feeling excited about it? The interviewee today is Brad, from California the U.S. Let’s see what he wanted to share with us!

Q1：你喜歡吃什麼？
A1：我喜歡吃海鮮，因為加州盛產海鮮，有一道菜Cioppino我特別喜歡，他是用番茄湯為底，海鮮為料，真的很美味但通常價格蠻高的。平常我們會喝巧達蛤蠣湯，因為相對來說價格比較便宜。
Q1：What do you like to eat?
A1：Seafood! California has so much seafood. Especially, I love cioppino, which is like tomato soup with lots of seafood in it. For instance, crabs, shrimps, and squid. It tastes pretty good but very expensive because it is full of seafood. The main dish that everyone eats probably every day is clam chowder, because it is cheaper.
Q2：美國在美食周要賣什麼呢？
A2：我們要賣Chili，這是一種牛肉湯，主食材有豆子、番茄汁、洋蔥和起司，搭配麵包吃很美味。另外我們第二道菜是蘋果派，酥脆的外皮，搭配香甜的蘋果內餡，大家一定要來品嘗。
Q2：What are you going to sell for food festival?
A2：Chili is like a beef soup, which is combined with kidney beans, tomato juice, onion, and cheese. It’s a little bit salty and is a good choice to eat with cornbread, which is sweet and a little bit dry. After finishing them, you can try apple pie with crispy outside and sweet apple inside. These are very delicious and good smelling.
Q3：你喜歡台灣食物嗎？有沒有去過夜市？
A3：我有去過夜市，但我覺得那裏的食物偏油，不過魷魚羹和剉冰我蠻喜歡的。
Q3：Do you like Taiwanese food? Have you ever been to night market?
A3：I think the fried food in night market is too fatty but it taste really good. For example, I like squid soup and shaved ice.
Q4：在美國的時候，空閒時間通常做什麼？
A4：我通常會和朋友一起去參加戶外活動。像我們冬天會去滑雪、會在湖邊划獨木舟，另外我們還會玩漆彈。
Q4：What do you do in your leisure time in the U.S.?
A4：Hanging out with friends. I like outdoor activities. We would have fun of skiing at Lake Tahoe in the winter. Also we would go kayaking at the lake next to my house. Moreover, we would play paintball guns.
Q5：那在台灣呢？
A5：我下個月要去划龍舟，是我們一群外籍生一起報名參加的，我們需要二十個人希望有更多人可以加入我們。另外我每週都嘗試不同的活動，像彈吉他、跳breaking等，我還參加學校的田徑隊。平常我會待在宿舍看中文書。
Q5：How about in Taiwan?
A5：Actually, I am going to row the Dragon Boat in next month. We need twenty people on the boat to race, so I hope someone can join us. I do different things every week, such as practicing the guitar, break dancing, biking, and hiking. Or I would stay in my dorm to read Chinese books.
Q6：你有沒有去台灣哪裡旅行？
A6：我春假有去墾丁，我有和我朋友在沙灘上玩，還把他埋進沙堆裡。另外，我還有去過溪頭做移地訓練，當時冬天攝氏零度，我們穿短袖短褲超冷的，但我還挺享受的。另外我還有去過阿里山看櫻花和日出，很漂亮。
Q6：Did you visit some attractions in Taiwan?
A6：Yes, I went to Kenting for spring break. The beach is sandy so I dug my feet inside and enjoyed it. I also dug a hole to bury my friend. In addition, I went to Sitou for track practice. It was zero degrees Celsius. We had to wear short shirts for training so we were all freezing. Though it was a difficult training, I still thought it was interesting. I went to Ali mount. too, I saw cherry blossom and beautiful sunrise which came from the mountain.
Q7：你覺得TFAA這個社團怎麼樣？
A7：我現在三年級，前兩年我都沒有參與，直到今年我朋友說服我加入這個社團，而我加入了也認識了更多朋友。
Q7：What do you think about TFAA?
A7：I am in the third grade now and I ignored this club for the first two years. Then someone convinced me to join the club and check it out. Therefore, I came and it was easier to meet people there. TFAA is a social club so I stay.
Q8：怎麼會選擇來台灣讀書？
A8：清華大學是個很棒的學校，而且在電機領域是世界前百大。我來台灣學習中文也認識這裡。一開始我只決定來交換一年，但後來喜歡上這裡，一待就是三年，在這裡我也交到了很多朋友，我覺得台灣是一個很棒的地方！
Q8：Why you choose Taiwan to study abroad?
A8：NTHU is a pretty good school, and it is on the top hundred for best engineering schools in the world. The original reason why I came to Taiwan is I wanted to explore the world more; especially, learning Chinese. At first, I decided to do it for a year. However, I thought Taiwan is a nice place so I just decided to stay for four years. Actually I had more friends than in the U.S.! Taiwan is my new home now.

Hagen是一個正就讀於材料系大三的學生。他每兩年都會花大約13小時的時間從德國飛來台灣探望親戚。因此，他曾經造訪過臺灣的許多地方，也對這座島嶼有一定程度的熟悉。他認為臺灣人相對於德國人而言，在遇到不認識的陌生人時較容易放的開；然而，臺灣人也大多有著保守的性格。當我們問起他對臺灣有什麼具體的建議時，Hagan提到臺灣的交通亂象，也希望這樣的情形能被改善。
Hagen is a junior majoring in the department of material science. He spends about 13 hours flying from his hometown Germany to Taiwan every two years because he has relatives here. Therefore, he has been to many cities in Taiwan and is quite familiar with our land. From his point of view, Taiwanese people are more open if approached by strangers, but more conservative than Germans. When we asked him what suggestion he would like to give Taiwan, he said the traffic in Taiwan is always in chaos and hoped that the situation could be improved.

一說到他最喜歡的台灣美食，Hagan說他對臺灣的剉冰情有獨鍾。他同時也很推崇小七的服務，因為清大熱情小七不管在任何時間都能提供Hagan服務。平常Hagan喜歡在休閒時間睡覺補眠、上網、以及和朋友出去玩。他也昰一個喜歡在 日常生活中來點小挑戰的人。有時候當他在散步時，他會想嘗試一些他從來沒有走過的路。
When it comes to his favorite food in Taiwan, Hagen takes a great liking to the shaved-ice. He also likes the 7-11 convenience stores in Taiwan very much because they can always provide him with foods whenever he wants to eat. What Hagen likes to do in his leisure time are sleeping, surfing the Internet and hanging out with friends. He is also a person who likes to take some small challenges in daily life. Sometimes when taking a stroll, he would like to try out pathways that he has never been on before.

被問起他最懷念德國的什麼，Hagan微笑著提起一些朋友還有家鄉的啤酒。那裏的啤酒風味喝起來和台灣啤酒可是完全不一樣的感受！雖然現在Hagan還沒有加入一個固定的社團，他正努力的尋找一個適合他的社團。例如，他曾經去過熱舞社來挑戰自己嘗試不同的舞蹈風格。
Asked what he misses the most in Germany, Hagen grinned and mentioned some of his friends and beers that taste very differently from those in Taiwan. Though Hagen isn’t a member of a particular club right now, he's trying to find a club he likes. For example, he has been to the Pop Dance Club to challenge himself to different dancing styles.

他覺得學中文有一定的難度，但Hagan正卯足全力的在學習中文。Hagan也告訴我們他很想要結交多一點臺灣朋友來協助他把中文學得更好。

He thinks that it’s hard to learn Chinese but he is now putting a lot of efforts into it. Hagen also told us that he would like to meet more and more Taiwanese students and become friends with them in order to help him practicing Chinese.
